The netbook market has been growing fast in the past few months. The fact that netbook manufacturers have been working hard to come up with designs that allow their customers to use their netbooks without making too much of a compromise has helped top manufacturers get a decent following. It may be true that a group of consumers are not happy with netbooks but you can’t argue with the numbers when 1 out of each 5 computers shipped is a netbook. That is an impressive number for such a young market, but it does show that people are putting more weight on portability and energy efficiency when it comes to picking up a laptop. And one has got to remember that a lot of people are spending their work life on the road, and netbooks come in very handy for that group.

Netbooks today may be more than decent, but they are going  to only get better. We already know that Nokia is planning to release even more netbooks in the future, so the market will be crowded for the foreseeable future. ASUS is also planning to enhance its netbooks and add video and graphics capabilities to its future line-up. At the end of the day, the netbook market is still young, and you can expect these tiny devices to get better, more powerful, and more tiny at the same time. The future is more mobile than most people think, which is why netbooks are here to stay.
