Netbook Buying Guide – June 2010

The netbook market is expected to heat up in the next few months. Most manufacturers are preparing their latest netbook models to release them to the market ahead of the holiday season. If we are lucky, we may see a few new processors used in the upcoming models this year. But you may not want to wait a couple of months to get your hands on a netbook. There are plenty of decent models you can pick up these days to get the job done.

In case you have not noticed, we have been secretly developing a netbook buying guide to help netbook fans find and compare models and pick a unit up fast. Of course, not all netbooks are created equal, so some research is required before picking up a new model.

Larger screen netbooks are on their way. But we already have a few models that feature 11-12.1 inch screens. Not too many come with 2 GB RAM and Windows 7 premium. You can always buy a cheaper model and make the upgrades yourself though.

Don’t forget battery life when shopping for a netbook. You do not want to pick up a mini laptop that only lasts you a couple of hours per charge. That’s certainly not convenient for travel. Having a decent webcam and lots of connectivity options can be handy on the road too.

New netbook models may be on their way, but there are still a few good models on the market to choose from. Considering that prices have been coming down in the past few months, it’s not a bad time to pick up netbooks these days.
