Most people you meet have probably heard of netbooks one way or another. But how about smartbooks? How many people are familiar with these mobile devices that lie somewhere between smartphones and laptops? In case you are not familiar with smartbooks, here is how Wikipedia defines them:

Smartbooks are expected to be the next battle-field for mobile PC makers. These devices are not as capable as netbooks but do give you the ability to take your life on the go and manage it on the road. Many companies are expected to come up with their own smartbooks in the near future, though the future of this market will depend on how consumers react to the concept behind these devices. Lenovo is one of the companies that is expected to release its own smartbook at CES.  The device is expected to have an HD display and will be offered through AT&T. The jury is still out on the future of smartbooks. It’s tough to see where the market will go considering that Apple is planning to release a tablet to the market. Depending on the execution, these devices may have a chance. But we will have to wait to find out about the long-term viability of smartbooks.
