We have been hearing about these upcoming AMD netbooks for quite some time. Unfortunately, not too many of them are around in the U.S. Gateway LT22 is one of those AMD-based netbooks. It has just become available in Canada and does pack a punch. It has an Athlon K125 processor and a decent graphics card. Here is a run down of what’s included:

• AMD Athlon II Neo K125
• 1024 x 600 pixel display
• 1 DDR3 RAM
• ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics
• Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Gigabit Ethernet
• USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, HD
• Web cam

Not to over-generalize things, but Intel processors do outperform AMD ones in most cases. But, AMD processors are much more affordable. AMD has not been in the netbook business for too long, but there is no reason it can’t be part of this market.
