Dell Streak To Join The Tablet Army

Netbooks and other handheld devices have been pushed back hard by Apple iPad. It seems Apple iPad won’t be the only device these other device makers need to worry about. Dell Streak is another exciting tablet that is more than capable of handling everyday tasks. It runs Android, which makes it even more formidable. Dell Streak is more than just a tablet. It’s a 5 inch handheld device that can be used for social networking, navigation, and entertainment on the go.

Here are Dell Streak’s specifications (according to Dell.com):

  • Android platform complete with Android Market and Dell user interface enhancements
  • Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon solution with integrated 1GHz processor
  • 3G + Wi-Fi + Bluetooth
  • UMTS / GPRS / EDGE class 12 GSM radio with link speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps*
  • 5 MP Autofocus camera with dual LED flash. Easily point, shoot, and upload to YouTube, Flickr, Facebook and more
  • User accessible Micro SD expandable memory available up to 32GB*. Store up to 42 movies* or 32,000 photos*, or 16,000 songs* with a 32GB* Micro SD upgrade

Dell Streak is not going to kill of Apple iPad anytime soon. It may be a tablet but it probably attracts a different audience. Can it kill netbooks? Highly doubtful, but it can work fine for those who use their laptops just to surf the Internet.
