Can Netbooks Make a Comeback?

Netbooks became very popular in such a short period of time. It was only after Apple revolutionized the tablet business that the demand for netbooks started dropping. Of course, netbooks were underpowered and left a whole lot to be desired as computing devices. So tablets should not get all the blame for the fall of netbooks. Recently, we have been hearing more about the rise of Ultrabooks. These ultra thin tablets offer more power than netbooks and are very thin. Those of you who have had a MacBook Air in the past, know what Ultrabooks will be all about.

Netbooks in their current form may be dying a slow death. But considering that Ultrabooks are not that cheap, we could see the rise of budget-friendly ultra-thin laptops in the future. There will always be demand for cheap laptops. With the decline of netbooks, it is only natural for something else to fill that space.

Very well written article. I'd still take a netbook over a tablet myself.

  2. I'm not pretty sure about Netbook since tablet and iPad are dominating the market for their cool features. Maybe it will have a come back but not as successful as expected.

Finally, I got something worth of my time looking around for this.Awesome. Thanks and keep it up! Surely I will come back.

  4. Well, if I’m going to choose between the netbook and laptop. I’ll choose laptop, because it’s almost in the same cost if you compare its specifications. Most of the Netbooks are limited in application and internet performance. Yes, technology grows fast so maybe they may also innovate it but there are many competitors out there like what you have said, ultra-thin tablets and ultra-thin laptops.
