ASUS Partners Up with Boingo?

AsusTek’s march towards netbook market leadership seems to be ongoing. The company has announced a few powerful next generation ASUS netbooks in the past couple of weeks and more is expected to come in the near future. ASUS netbooks are not only solid all around, but they often come with the best set of specifications you can get on a netbook. But Asus is not stopping there. The company is forming partnerships and striking deals to help its customers get the most out of their netbook (e.g. Eee Storage).

In another move that should make ASUS fans happy, ASUS has partnered up with Boingo to provide wireless service to netbook owners on the go. If you have bought a new ASUS netbook recently, you may have seen Boingo’s software on your computer. That would allow you to connect to Boingo’s hotspots on the go (though it will cost you $9.95 a month in the U.S.).

A netbook without Internet connection is not that useful. While you can pick up subsidized netbooks to have access to Internet at all times, those contracts are a bit pricey and not too attractive. Services such as Boingo are your best bet if you want to stay connected on the road without breaking the bank. A special discount for ASUS netbook owners would have been great, but we may be hoping for too much there.
