AsusTek is one of those companies that does not give up on any market or so it seems. The company may be a huge underdog in the tablet wars against Apple and Google tablets, but it’s hoping to grab some market-share of its own with the Eee Pad. More details about ASUS Eee pad came out at Computex. The device is expected to run a CULV processor, offers 10 hours of battery, and will run Windows 7. A webcam and USB port are expected to be included with this device.
It’d be interesting to see how Windows 7 performs on such a device. While the OS much better than Vista, we are still dealing with a Microsoft product. A Linux option (maybe even Android) would have been interesting. It does seem as if ASUS is courting laptop owners. No wonder the company is touting a keyboard dock for this tablet.
ASUS Eee Pad is expected to sell for $399 to $499, so it’s going to cost you almost as much as an iPad. It seems like a promising device but would you invest in one?
